Your have always been someone interesting to read their views but most of the time disagree with What is your current view of the Tfg, the Ahlu-Sunnah camp -- I know of your dislike for Al-shabab/Xisbul Islaamiya factions-- and how do you think, taking into consideration the current state of the country, their can be peace. What framework should be issued? An incorporation of what all camps wish to achieve and end up with a democratic-religious entity?
Somalia is in a ruff period, more troublesom than the 90s!
My view is still the same:
- The foreign-created regime has new colour but is the same and has the same modus operandi as the foreign-created regime's before them.
- The other armed factions have new colour but are the same and have the same modus operandi as those before them.
Once we strip the current situation from its superficial coating we can see the clear parallels of the current political pretenders with the previous ones.
-----
Lets start with the foreign-created regime.
-It is still characterized by heavy reliance on foreign powers for its very existance.
-It is still characterized by internal dysfunctioning because of the high rate of illiterates and political opportunists.
-Its still characterized by its inability to control significant portion of Somalia
-Its still characterized by its alliance with all kinds of entities who are not part of it but loosely allign themselves with it for their own gaines.
The Ahlu Sunnah, Alshabab, Xisbi Islam, Islamic Courts, Raas Kamboni,
- These armed religious factions are not very much diffirerent than those before them. Ofcourse, they espouse to struggle for greater ideals but their actions speak for themselves.
- They are characterized by their ruthless struggle for political power with no consideration for the wellbeen of the Somali civilians.
- They are characterized by their control of small fiefdoms in which they introduce their law and mode of governance by the barrel of the gun.
- They are characterized by their ties to all kinds of different foreign powers and interests who supply them with weapons and money.
What can be done?
Nothing at this moment except taking notes and learning from ones mistakes.
Important lessons have been learned, and these are:
- Decision-making based on the whims of individuals is not in the interest of the collective interest
- No matter how holy one pretends, you judge them by their actions
- Conflict and anarchy will continue to exist unless the people become aware of their collective interest and need for collective decision-making mechanisms.
- As long as the anarchic situation exists we must be aware of opportunists and pretenders, even if they have long beards and act holy.
The future:
- Local representative governance for the different Southern regions.
We will reach that future by learning from our mistakes and opposing the current factions no matter the colour and shape.
On another note,
Peace has no value without freedom and development. You can be poor as hell and live under an oppressive tyranny yet live in peace. Is that good? Should we applaud such development? Or should we propagate for peace/stability with a fair degree of freedom and economic development?
The current factions will exhaust themselves and further show their true colours to the Somali nation. Give it 5-10 years and you will see that the current factions will be despised as the warlords before them.
