Re: What is the way forward?
Somalis in our life time are not good but let us hope future generation would do beter, and besides it seems Hawiye don't want peace and Somalia to come back from darkness look what happened in Djabouti now a lowly minister went to there with Sharif and signed a bad agreement that is in danger of upsetting Puntland and breaking up the TFG.

The one's who won't want peace iyo those who are against Somali unity are the same.gobdoon wrote:Somalis in our life time are not good but let us hope future generation would do beter, and besides it seems Hawiye don't want peace and Somalia to come back from darkness look what happened in Djabouti now a lowly minister went to there with Sharif and signed a bad agreement that is in danger of upsetting Puntland and breaking up the TFG.
Future generations rised in Anarchy in the South iyo those who are rised to believe in a country called Somaliland in the Northwest will only further complicate things and drag the Somali conflict on for further decades and are surely not the solution.
Those in the West, are not in Somalia and can never be Somali's solution. They are to far fetched from Reality and the true problem in Somalia.
The Somali's in the Great State of Puntland, find themselves in a rare predicament. They are not in anarchy, and have found ways to Govern while keeping law and order without a strong Somali Government in Mogadishu pay rolling them. Nor find the need to break the unity of Somalia over some sad decisions of a dead dictator!!!.

Re: What is the way forward?
the way forward for somalia is not to care about politics, it is not healthy. westren countries spend billions of dollars to brainwash and entertian their citizens so that they wont know the truth, somalis on the other hand from the 12 year old to the 80 year old grandma only talk about politics
Re: What is the way forward?

A/Y at least tried!!!
The Guy was elected by a diverse Somali Parliament of 275mps and came to Power iyo Somalia with 1/3 of country already in his hands. He came to the Clans of the South and said, we are Somali and we know one another and our history, lets put things aside and reconcile, for the sake of peace, iyo Somalinimo.
He was elected 2004, came to Somalia by mid 2005 by landing in Jowhar, moved to Baydhoa, continued talks with the war-lords in control of much of the South iyo Mogadishu than, much to his iyo many other's suprised, there was already a movement starting to form, because of the threat they felt from having a determined President in the anarchy south. This anti peace iyo Government movement was the Islamic Courts Union. They emerged and easily took over much of the south iyo Mogadishu from the war-lords within weeks, something they failed to do the last 16 years, suddenly became easy when a determined President who was ready to deal with the War-lords once in for all was elected President. They tried to eliminate, what they saw was an obstacle to their future iyo goals, which was the President himself. They tried more than once to assassinate him coming very close once and even killing his brother.
Even than the President of the Federally Recognized Government of Somalia, waited patiently, once the dust cleared, the objective of the new group became very clear in the many peace conferences around the world they sat along with the Government. They wanted to become another Government of their own, when Somalia already had a government of unity that represented the whole nation.
The anti peace iyo government Movement made sure no tangible results came out from any of the talks with the Government, their greed iyo stupity led to an all out war between the two. They started to call the Amir of the Somali people gaal! they undermined the President determination to his Government iyo people. They broke all of the agreements the two sides signed to keep the peace in the South. As their greed iyo stupity grow ten fold, they vowed to destroy the Somali Government and take over it's base of baydhoa. Well all hell broke lose that day and Somali History was changed for ever!
