Tale of 2 programmes

Post by *Nobleman* »

Yesterday I watched 2 contrasting programmes. Both Factual TV documentary type shows. First one was about the recession and the 'quiet middle class' majority affected. Basically talking about uni kids who graduated and were unable to find jobs and also senior manager who were fired and are in serious debt because they could no longer service their extravagant lifestyles.

The 2nd programme was about migrants from Africa and following their journey to Europe via the sahara, west african and Libya. These migrants literally walked through the sahara which was kinda of messed up, You see dead bodies literally a mile away from an oasis of water.

Just found it interesting comparing the problems of 2 different worlds, one worried about his extravagant lifestyle, the other about basic survival.

second programme can be watched here:

It really does highlight the vast gap between the two worlds. To many of us in the west, what the people in the channel 4 doc were doing was trying to survive, I would consider keeping my home basic survival, but when you put it in perspective where people are struggling to keep alive, you realise downsizing is not that big of a deal.

Although I wouldn't consider any of their lifestyles to be extravagant

But what I wanna know is why Libya wants to keep those migrants and what this deal was ?

I believe theres no such thing as poverty in the west. The govt will always bail you out enough to survive.

Libya are crazy, the conditions they had those migrants in, there were many somalis there, allah hu saxlo inshallah. They hold the migrants in some prison like conditions because of some legislation passed by some EU fat cats, that are far removed from the realities of this world.
