Under Siyad Barre's banner we almost attained the dream of greater somalia and the reunification of all somali people. In 1977 the Sacad clan did their best for the greater good of the somali nation. From central somalia it was mainly Haber Gider forces under the somali national army that liberated Ogadens regional province of Gode.

Even after Cuban and Russian forces had managed to drive us out of Ogaden, it was Sacad fighters who wore somalia's infamous blue star helmet that staved off Cuban and ethiopian counter invasion into somalia's border. While the rest of the other clans threw away their uniforms and fled it was mainly Haber Gider that protected the somali border and saved somalia.

This is true. Hawiye are clearly secure people if they can put rational thought in front of petty tribal perspectives, and see Siyad for what he was :up:

From experience, most praise Barre because they are capable of viewing the bigger picture, unlike Isaaq, who to this day refuse to admit the Hargeisa operations benefited them.
