Re: First time i prayed salat al janaza
i thought that was only for male to take part salatul janaza,,aniga tiro ma lahan inta aan janaza ku tukaday,,weliba aan meydka raacay ilaa iyo qabuuraha laakin going to the funeral is more scary than just prayin salat janaza
Re: First time i prayed salat al janaza
Too many times before. Even dug graves lending my hand. People in the neighbourhood would announce the death of someone and ask the youth to come lend a hand. I have buried and poured a fistful of sand onto many people's graves then prayed onto them afterwards.

Are women allowed to partake. As has already been said you should be there for the actual burial and kutbah, of close family, subxanllah.Queen_Arawello wrote:I still have shivers down my spine..it made reflect on this dunya like seriously..anybody else here ever taken part in Janaza salah...

Re: First time i prayed salat al janaza
What are you guys talking about? Its is perfectly alright for women to pray salatul janaza. It is not permitted for them to be at the burial and follow the coffin laakiin it fine to pray the salat.
There is no verse in the Qur'an concerning the funeral prayer for men or women. However, there are sound texts about this prayer in the Sunnah. It is lawful for the woman to participate in funeral prayers as she is addressed by the Sharia orders and commands on the same level as the man unless specified otherwise. There is no evidence from the Sunnah forbidding or showing dislike for women's participation in funeral prayers. All the scholars are agreed on this matter. But this rule is limited to funeral prayers in the house or the mosque. It is not recommended for the woman to follow the coffin when carried to the graveyard, even if her intention is to participate in the funeral prayer. Al Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Um Atiya Al Ansaria () that she said: "We were forbidden to accompany funeral processions, but this prohibition was not mandatory for us."

Subxaan’allah I’ve been once and I tell you it was certainly an eye opener for me... Pray before you are prayed upon! La xawla wala qawta ilah bilah is all I can say!
