No, it is definitely a majerteen town. The only thing ogaden can dispute is who founded the town but they can't say truthfully they are majority or even inhabit the town at all. It only has 700 or less residents so we know who is who, the inhabitants account for less than 1% of Afmadow's total district population and its on the edge of the district, bordering Kismayo, close to Caanoole as it is also at the edge of Badhaade and bordering Kismayo. The two towns are part of a string of settlements inhabited by southern Harti. Check old maps where Harti is highlighted in the south, it covers more of Afmadow than even Kismayo.

KISMAAY= is settled by Daroods (70%), Bajuuni & Dir(10%), Gaaljecel & Ajuraan (10%), and others (10%).

Jamaame= Sheekhaal(20%) Darood(70%) Jareerweyne(10%).

Jilib =Sheekhaal(70%), others (30%)

Afmadow=Ogaden (60%), Awrtable(20%), others (20%).

Bilis Qooqaani= Dir (70%), others (30%).

Buulo Haaji= established by the reer Haaji subclan of the Leelkase, this town is today = Leelkase (70%), and harti (20%), others (10%).


p.s. i had to add in Buulo Haaji, since i'm reer haaji, and i have been suprised lately by the fact other Daroods are trying to claim this village that was started by a sub-sub-sub-sub-clan of Leelkase which is called "REER HAAJI", and till this day they settle the town.
