It's natural. She wanted to know what box to put you in. If she was from the deepest South and you were from the furthest north, she would keep her conversation limited to 'yes, akhi' and 'no, akhi'. Actually someone asking what clan you are or where you are from isn't qabiilist ileen they just wanna know who you are and where you're from. However if they look down on you because of your clan then that is qabiilist.
