I think Siad Barre used the Somali state's power and resources to clamp down on any rebellion and against what he believed was treason against his state but I and the rest of the world do not believe Darood had anything to do with it.
If it did, the first rebel group he went to war against would not have been Darood (SSDF).
You are just reinventing history. If you must know this is an Isaaq man responding to SSDF's taunts to Isaaq saying will you let a Darood rule when they wanted others to join their rebellion:
The SSDF rebel said:
Intaad Diini magantiis tahoo daba-mushaaxayso
Daaroodka moolkaa intaad mid uun ku biirayso
Nacasyahow maqiiqani maxaa adiga kuu meel ah.
While you are following Diini around as his subject
While you are throwing your lot in with one great Darood after another
Why do you not seek what is yours you simpleton
The Isaaq responder responded:
Haddaan Diini magantiisba nahay ama Mareexaan ba
Nama midab-takoorshoo xaquu noo mitihiyaaye
Mataano iyo waxaan nahay dad aan kala maqnaanayne
Whether I am the subject of Diini or the Marehan
He does not distinguishes and gives me my justice
We are like twins and people who cannot become unglued
Xkeyse and the rest of your young clan members, if "S.Barre wanted to settle old wounds", why would the Isaaq be defending his rule 10 years into it?
I really cannot understand how Somalis think.
