Some ulema say voting is not recommended, but i need to look further into it before I decide either way. Saying that I voted in the London mayoral elections.

With whats on offer now i'm not very motivated to go out and vote. Firstly the Labour party and their war against Islam has put me off, the tories are a bunch of upper class cronies and all they do is cut taxes for the rich and cut back on public spending. As for the liberal democrats, they are too liberal for my liking, especially on social issues. Voting for other fringe parties is useless, unless you live in an area with a high muslim population, then they'll have more influence.

Had Tony Blair not decided to follow the americans into Iraq and Afghanistan, then it would of gone down as one of the most successful terms post war.

There is not one party that fully reflects the muslim view, as we are conservative on social issues, but more liberal on political issues. All in all not very motivated to go out and vote.

This is correct, if voting was endorsed by Ulema (which is arguable, but I am sure the gen. consensus is no, I'd advise our community and Muslims in general to not vote regardless, seeing as all parties of note are not particularly interested in ceasing this 'War on Terror'.

None of the three main parties a worth a vote. At least those across the ocean had a decent choice between Republican and Democrat (even though they chose the wrong one).

Both were going to continue Western imperialism of Muslim lands, but one is a lot closer to Islamic ideals and moral values. Christian Republicans are better than atheist liberals.

I agree with this. It's all much of a muchness. No sane person could never vote for Etonian boy Cameron. If we think Labour are bad now, wait till Cameron get into office. Conservatives will probably get in, and when they do, everybody will regret it.

Yeah the thought of cameron and the tories is quite scary, he has already outlined major cut backs in public spending. Also we already got his etonian buddy boris as the London mayor, the clown is an absolute joke. Cameron is similar to obama in the sense he can talk and engage an audience, but the snake in him shines through.

Not sure to be honest on the general position of voting. I would of thought personally that it would be better to vote in order gain a greater influence, but i am not aware on the deens stance on this issue.
