Galmudug's Three Major Events

Three major events occurred for Galmudug recently:

1. UN Special Representative for Somalia Olad Abdallah met with President Caliin and discussed how the UN can support Galmudug politically and humanitarian wise. This is a major acknowledgement of the State and a key recognition of Galmudug being a stabilizing force for Somalia.



2. US Embassy Meets with President Caliin after a request to meet him to discuss security and humanitarian interests in the region. The US is a major donor and political player in Somalia and it was a key step for Galmudug and an acknowledgement of the State.




3. The Highest Humanitarian Official for the UN, Mark Bowden, visited Galmudug and met with the people, the administration and NGOs. He was very impressed with the peace and security in Galmudug.
