Groundbreaking Broadcast for the Somalis About Sexually Tran
Groundbreaking Broadcast for the Somalis About Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Egal Shidad: Stories of Somali Health will air a program simultaneously on television and radio to inform Somalis about sexual health issues.
Saint Paul, Minn. – Egal Shidad: Stories of Somali Health will air a program about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) on Tuesday November 10th at 7:30 p.m. on KFAI FM 90.3/106.7 and at 7:00 p.m. on SPNN Channel 19 on St. Paul Cable. The program is primarily intended for members of the Somali community, using the Somali language and aspects of Somali culture to relay information and address stigmas associated with STDs.
This program was created in response to conversations among local Somalis about the need to get accurate information about STDs out to the community. It is a unique approach that combines health information and frank conversation about social aspects that factor into the transmission of STDs. Contributors include Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed, local KFAI radio host Zuhur Ahmed, and a group of Somali university students.
This project is a collaborative effort between ECHO, Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota (CSCM), Producer Mukhtar Gaaddasaar, KFAI Fresh Air Radio, and SPNN.
On November 10 Egal Shidad: Stories of Somali Health will air on KFAI Radio, 90.3/106.7FM at 7:30 p.m. followed by a live call-in show. The LIVE call-in show and celebration will take place at Karmel Mall in Minneapolis. The program will also air at 7 p.m. SPNN Channel 19 on St. Paul Cable. For more info, visit www.newroutes.org/projects/egalshidad .
Egal Shidad, Stories of Somali Health, a project of New Routes to Community Health, works to strengthen Somali immigrant families through video, radio and English language learning stories about healthy lives. It is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Benton Foundation

Basra this is something the somali community of Minnesota need's since the STD & Hiv Rate in the somali community has gone so high to that of the AA communitie's , it's best to make sure xalimo's/Faraxs to be aware of the danger's of STD, & for Xalimo's to atleast ask their bfs to use Condom if they are going to get fucked.

The number of new HIV/AIDS case in the US have definitely been elevated especially now that new arrivals who are positive are given the opportunity to enter the US. More importantly, one issue that is alarmingly on high rise is the number of abortions in the Somali community. Girls are getting abortions left and right and without any parental knowledge.

Beenta maha laakinse the number 1 factor that is causing that is they are not using Condom , or either not using it properly & when they get pregnant the farax/Jamaican/Cadaan won't properly take the responsibilities , and the xalimo can't tell her family as it would bring shame so the only choice is Abortion.

Damn some people are very caqli ciyaal and will always follow their whims & desires. Aniga waxaan taaganahay: anyone who transgresses the limitations set forth by Diinul Islaam deserves to be sent to their final destination aka Aakhirah so that they can taste the consequence of their ficils.
