The world views Somalia as a retarded country, Somalia would score the highest if there ever was a backwardness index.

Add the news that the competition winners were given ak47's as prizes.

Everytime i read bbc news the hassan olad is reporting some wacky news from somalia, when there are like a hundred other issues he could report on, i guess these types of news makes headlines and that fella has to earn his cash.

Ah bs,

The international media provides ample coverage on positive stories in Africa, especially for Bantu countries on how their economies are growing and how relatively innovative they are with the little means they have.

A few days a go I saw a report on m-pesa a mobile payment system in Kenya for example.

The world just hates Somalia which is valid in my opinion, laughing stock of all nations.

Now thats Bs, let me give you an example, all the somalis that got killed in south africa like flies over the past few years never make it to the news headlines, apart from an article written in hiiraan or some other somali website. Why do you think that is?

How come you never hear jackshit about countries such as Eritrea, Tanzania, Mozambique, Senegal, Cameroon etc just to name a few.

Somalia seems to get the get attention from the international media at least once every two weeks (usually for its horrifying culture, civil war or piracy), but the countries I just named could be kept quiet for months.

1) South Africa already has an extremely high crime rate, Somalis are just stupid enough to live in such a country. Even for a Bantu it's a dangerous place.

2) South Africa is trying to keep a low profile for the world cup

If you were in a position of power (i.e. Somalia's president or pm, Al-Shabaab's leader, etc), how would you improve Somalia's performance?
