Ailing economy?
A port of that scale could revitalize Somalia's entire econony, particularly in conjunction with the residents of Sanaag's business aptitude.
Roads are also being built (paved). Is this the first step to Maakhir's manifest destiny? Abdiqani Cadde is transporting equipment from Bejing as we speak.

Is that port big enough to make an impact in the region yet alone the country?

(It'll say something about an attack site, it isn't). The port's capacity will be sufficient to rejuvenate the area's economy, particularly in terms of creating employment. It's expandable, so once the necessary measures at put in place it will probably supplant Djibouti's as the Horn's primary port.
It's certainly capable of doing so.

Until the independence referendum is held, Maakhir will be counted under the greater 'Somalia' umbrella.

Every single Maakhirian would rather live in Laascanood, Garowe or Bosaso
Maakhir has no economy whatsoever
Ever heard of the push and pull factors?

Are you literate? Somalia as a whole has no organized 'economy', the port is the first step towards building one. Regardless the citizens of Maakhir are entirely self-sufficient and very affluent in comparison to other Somalis.
Ever heard of self-sufficiency? Or resources? Or unlimited fish stocks? Or arable land?

Somalia does have an economy in some parts its more active than others - still screwed up though (nothing to be proud of).
If we could compare gross domestic income of lets say Bari, Nugaal, North-Mudug combined vs Sool and Maakhir the latter would lose tremendously
Maakhir is comprised out of as you already said self-sufficient villages which are isolated from the world, whereas the urban settlements of Puntland have trade and commerce and make real profits.

Precisely. Sanaag happens to be one of the 'more active' areas.

Bari is Maakhir. You have no substantial statistics to go off.

They're no more isolated than any other region, Puntland is no exception. The urban settlements of Puntland are kept afloat by Maakhirians, this is common knowledge. Puntland's fabric is Warsangeli money. It always has been. You cannot find a single area in Puntland with trade and commerce Warsangeli are not involved in.
Maakhir is perfectly capable of development, it's already underway. A vital resource is present. Oil. Can Majerteeniya say the same?

Sorry pal, you are on par with central Somalia economically.
Somalia's economic hierarchy
1. Hargeisa-Waqooyi Galbeed region
2. Bosaso
3. Mogadishu
4. Burco-Berbera region
5. Gaalkacyo-Garowe region
6. Coastal cities in the South
7. Sanaag-Sool
8. Central Somalia and the Riverine areas
9. Bay-Bakool area
10. Gedo and other Southern border regions

There is not one single square kilometer of Bari that is controlled by Warsangelis, the few guest workers from Sanaag we have in Bosaso obey the laws of Puntland.

Maakhir barely even has mobile phone reception, Sanaag is backward beyond imagination. Ambulances are donkey carts for example. The only thing it is capable of is one tuna factory.

You take the time to assemble a hierarchy knowing that there are no statistics or other forms of evidence to support it. That is hilariously inaccurate

Hargeisa's economy is supplanted by Warsangeli, it's own politicians have made mention of this. Burco, too.
There is not one single square kilometer of Bari that is controlled by Warsangelis, the few guest workers from Sanaag we have in Bosaso obey the laws of Puntland.
More nonsense. All of Bari is under Makhir's governance. Outside of technicalities it's as much a part of Maakhir as Sanaag-proper. 'We have in Bosaso'

There's no need for Sanaag's residents to seek employment in Bosaso, there's ample oppurtunities in Maakhir. This will only be supplemented by the port.
Maakhir barely even has mobile phone reception, Sanaag is backward beyond imagination. Ambulances are donkey carts for example. The only thing it is capable of is one tuna factory.
Spreading lies is what you've been reduced to? If Sanaag, the most resourceful region in Africa is 'backward', what is Puntland? All these years and all you're capable of is a two-bit government with no economic development of worth in the last 5 years. How inspirational
