I wonder what it would be like if

Every qabiil in Somali was to be moved back to its homeland and the Somali map was divided up purely on qabiil lines. Assuming that those who lived together were separated and people were categorised purely on their fathers' qabiil. No inter-marriage, no free trade, no free movement; you make do with what you have in your land. If this could be done peacefully it would make a very interesting experiment. Reer Xamar in Xamar, Isaaq in Awdal/Wuqoyi Galbeed, Dhulbahante in Buuhodle, Warsengali in Lascanood, Majeerteen in Garoowe, Habar Gidir in Dhuusamareeb etc

It would be interesting.

Ps Don't get your knickers in a twist if the geography is wrong, you get the gist
I am not sure how life would be with everyone marrying their cousins but I think Xamar would be safe

Dhuusamareeb ?? Is this an actual place in somalia?? Caudubillahi.....do they have a lot of dhuuso in the air? Akhaas.

PS I do believe in every qabil to stick to their own land. Corrections Mjs....own---Bosaso,baari, garoowe, galkaiyo, basically entire puntland.

NOT good at all.

First of all, the qabiils would most likely finished each other off seeing how Somalis love too fight each other.

Second there would be no camel looting :|

Basra
Yes Dhusaamareeb is a town in Galgaduud.

Naa, there has to be some free movement, nothing radical though. No major qabils moving making mass movement to the south. If there was to be no movement, why don't we go back pre-reer xamar coming? I think then it was Geledi-Ajuraan led those areas. Anyways, yes the Shabelle's would be peaceful, prosperous and beauuuutiful. :rose:

But, in all honesty - its all about mixing. When you have one colour in your painting it is boring, when we get all our different dialects, different food, different clothing you get a bonfire. Bright, basheful, beautiful....need I go on B?

This wouldn't affect me in a drastic sense.

My mother is Ogayslabe. My cousins are Ogayslabe. My other cousins's mother is Ogayslabe.

My immediate family is either Ogayslabe or Warsangeli.

Sure, my extended family may be of different qabiils; however, I think I can only name three, or four members who aren't Warsangeli/Ogayslabe.

Ugh, topics like this make me realize how disgustingly inbred I am.

Dude, why are you clapping?

Isn't your hooyo Leelkase? If everyone were to only live with their qabiil, you'd be seperated from your mother.
