Just a few thoughts into Somali culture..
As us somalians should be Muslims, have you ever thought our culture isn't very really Islamic.
For example the majority od somali men eat qad even some sheikhs which is HARAAM but many don't see it that way. The same goes for smoking especially when man smokes is totally fine but if a somali girl smokes HARAAM.
A hadith states that the prophet (phub) said that helping your wife in the household is more important men going to Friday prayer. The father has the main resposibilty of looking after the house and wife but clearly lacks in many somali homes. Often sadly woman are doing everything even financially subhanallah. In Islam whatever the wife earns the husband is not allowed to touch but the wife has al the right over the husband's wealth.
The other sad fact is FGM which many somali parents will be hold accountable for on the Day of Judgement. FGM is haraam and not stated in the Quran but the sunna version is sunna in other recommend but not compulsary.
The other is the way son and daughters are treated but often parents turn a blind eye to the son's bad behaviour and deeds.
Each person men or woman are equal and will be judged for their actions so saying ''inanka ceeb malaha'' is so wrong.
Just some thoughts i had, what do you guys think??

Excluding the issues you mentioned above Somali culture is mainly Islamic based.

Infrah you're right sister..We mix up our culture with religion and then we get some messed up shit..Thats the problem with many Islamic countries nowadays. Another thing with the Somali culture is the weddings that are completely western style ... and men dancing with women like its normal
Re: Just a few thoughts into Somali culture..
You have a point but no need to generalise there is good and bad sista in every muslim community nations somalis turks nigerians pakistanis bengalises we can just start with ourselves first somaha there is good and bad in our culture.
