Yes to both of your questions however Muslims equate democracy to secularism and reject it for that reason. Not that there is anything wrong with secularism in my point of view, as long as there is some conditions. Democracy=progress

I read in this book that some somalis rioted when the first government tried to make a new script based upon latin. The reason for this is because they said latin stands for LADIIN. Similarly, one can say democracy stands for ladiin, except in the private affairs, which goes against the whole notion of sharica.

when did democracy work, and whats the criterion? dirty kaffir, we're not talking about science here; we're talking about an opinion/belief. if he thinks there is something out there better than democracy, whether it has been tried or not, then leave it at that; you've no right to question it.
