Cali, ha is yeel yeelin . Waxaan u jeedaa, these people whose job it is to design the buildings are tasteless and colour blind. The architects job is to produce an aesthetically pleasing, safe and efficient design or outline of a building. I'm not talking about the engineer, surveyor, construction worker iyo shaqaalaha kale.

Do you homestly believe that it is the architects main idea as to how it is going to look like? The buyer 'chooses' the colours and design while the architect shows examples of 'popular' and current designs. The homeowner then goes along with the design plans of the architect, they change bits and bobs or they have the architect go back to the drawing board. A lot of these houses being build back home have different colours, it is the norm quite frankly and can be witnessed from Borame to Hargeisa to Galkacyo. In many years to come there shall be an heavy influx of new homes with them all looking different from one and another due to their unique designs, i'm starting to believe that these types of houses shall be known as 'typical' somali homes pretty soon, gone are the days of the huts.
