Female student and her lover 'sexually assaulted two sleeping women after advertising house warming on Facebook'

A female student and her lover sexually assaulted two sleeping women at a house-warming party advertised on Facebook, a court heard today.
Letitia Bowen-Dale and Neil Smith, both 22, got under the duvet with a 21-year-old guest, before groping her.

They then crept into bed with a 17-year-old girl, stripped naked and performed a sex act on her, it is claimed.
Inner London Crown Court heard the attacks took place at Smith's newly-rented two-bed flat in Docklands, east London, in the early hours of September 21 last year.
Prosecutor Gerard Pounder said: 'Ms Bowen-Dale put it about on her Facebook entry they were going to have a housewarming party.
'Smith and Bowen-Dale used to go out with each other. It appears by September 2008 their relationship wasn't on that footing, it was rather more casual.
'People had bought along drinks, ages ranged from 17 and most of the others were in their early 20s.'
Mr Pounder said the first woman had been drinking but moved on to water at about 11pm, before going to bed.
'She went upstairs to the bedroom and put her pyjamas on. She thinks it was about quarter to two when she was disturbed in her sleep.
'She was awoken because both of these defendants stumbled into her room and switched the light on.
'She thought they were drunk. She was in bed covered by the duvet.
'They got under the duvet. She said one of the two squeezed her left breast.'
He said she rolled over so that she faced the wall in an attempt to stop them.
Bowen-Dale then suggested leaving the room and the woman got up and told her boyfriend what had happened.
Meanwhile the pair then went into other room where another female slept after drinking too much.
The prosecutor said: 'They then went to the other bedroom and they entered it together.
'At that point the (victim) was asleep on the mattress. She wasn't very well. She became aware that the two defendants had got on the bed.
'When was aware that both of them had removed all their clothing, they were naked.
'She tried to curl up in a ball to protect herself but wasn't in a great condition because of the alcohol.
She said she remembered her pyjama shorts being pulled down and Smith telling Bowen-Dale to carry out sexual acts.
The attack ended when the first victim's boyfriend burst in and called police, jurors heard.
Both Bowen-Dale and Smith made no comment during interview.
Bowen-Dale, of Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, and Smith, of Grantham Road, Colchester, Essex, each deny two counts of sexual assault.
The trial continues.
