Re: Picture of Mogadishu
Looks like Hargeisa which is 1/20th its size. Quite shitty if you ask me, a city of 2 million that looks like a large town at best. Maybe if Xamar had one mayor instead of a dozen, it would see some real development over the past few decades. The city is like East LA without a mayor.
Again, my disappointment in this city continues.

That picture is not a full representation of Mogadishu. It simply capture one angle.paidmonk wrote:Looks like Hargeisa which is 1/20th its size. Re: Picture of Mogadishu
Still doesn't change the fact.
You simply can't throw Mogadishu in the fray of small-town boomers. When someone posts a pic of a new school in Hargeisa or some hotels in Gaalkacyo, its one thing. These places were transformed from villages and towns to cannibalized mini-cities. Xamar doesn't work the same.
To put it into analogy; a new hotel in Gaalkacyo is like putting doors on a car you built from scratch whereas a new telecom building in Xamar is like putting an AC in a car that's been totaled.

You are absolutely right! The abject poverty and misery in Mogadishu should not be ignored!
