Spin: Colonial Somalia better than CURRENT SOMALIA?
I saw Voltage's comment about the Italian colony... What do you all think, skinnies?

Re: Spin: Colonial Somalia better than CURRENT SOMALIA?
Yes in the South because the Italians were thinking they were gonna stay there, they even Had Italians Migrate to Somalia, but the North the British just wanted the Meat for their Bases in Aden.
Re: Spin: Colonial Somalia better than CURRENT SOMALIA?
Not doing this for attention but I just want to hammer this home to Somalis
"The bottom line is Somalia fulfills no geopolitical interest for anyone, therefore doesn't warrent any consideration. The very few things Somalia does have i.e (Coastline) are already taken by force so there is no need to ask or to bribe. People take it too emotionally with the whole "neo colonization" thing. Somalia is the only thing worse than neo colonized, they don't even matter enough to be neocolonized!
Also with the neocolonized countries while 80% of the population are "have nots" at least You have some of the indigenous population that are "haves". In Somalia name Me one "have"? I In Somalia You have 100% of the population living in extreme circumstances. For a people in such a strait neocolonization would be a PRIVILAGE not a slight. Ofcourse from our TV sets, full stomachs, and tranquil lives its easy for us to rant about this damned neocolonization. That would be a best case scenario for Somalia today. Case in point, When the US came to Somalia most of the Somalis cheered as they saw a Army of a nation that would at least bring some sort of normalacy albiet the motive may have been selfish. Sure they may have brough inustice and tyranny but at least they were going to bring order when You compare them to the roving thugs that were starving thousands of people. That was sign enough that a people who are destitute and starving, will happily undergo neocolonization if it means food for the day.

Nicca, respond to the topic. I'm not asking if you think Italy should come back, I'm asking you to compare.

Re: Spin: Colonial Somalia better than CURRENT SOMALIA?
Somalis love freedom...it would not take long before they get sick of the Italians and invent a new reason to kill each other once they are gone. I say we get the violence over with now. All countries have civil wars, it makes a country, lets not give our minds back to those who hate us more than we hate ourselves

Re: Spin: Colonial Somalia better than CURRENT SOMALIA?
we are neo-colonized and its more than obvious our location on the map is a permanent issue, it is the root causes of our current problem and problems to come !
but you right in the sense that the people who are colonizing us indirectly do not care enough to conceal their intensive fraudulence in the region, and they are presuing their goals with indifference of Somalia's stability, because we have become something more of resemblance with Animals than Human beings, and they have taken advantage of this and encased us in our confusion and only interfere as a third-party to instigate.
the ultimate blame is on the international recognized administration in Somalia, they are so MAANGAAB that they cant even achieved the most basic essentials such as peace and security of the Somali people, and to some extend protect the fake sovereignty of Somalia so that random foreigners do not run rampant on our shores.
djibouti is a perfect example of neo-colonizism, they are STUCK my friend, and without being in war they still manage to stay way behind. But because of the little brain in their administration they manage to keep the peace reasonably

If SYL founders heard this, they would be turning over in their graves. Make them proud by fighting for the freedom they gave you.

Re: Spin: Colonial Somalia better than CURRENT SOMALIA?
Yes and No. Disregarding infrastructure etc and going more basic somalia was peaceful at that time, so yes it is better than current somalia. However what is peace worth when you have not 100% free in your own land.
