Actually Israel was humiliated because they were forced to apologize twice in an international stand off. What the deputy foreign minister did was act small. He even spoke in Hebrew when he was making his point to the media so the Ambassador did not know anything about what was going on.

On the world stage, body language and how you interact with others is of the utmost importance. Why do you think the liberals lied and threw a fit about Bush not shaking a bunch of people's hands when if you watch the video they cite in it's entirety, he already shook everyone's hand?

Israel 'apologizing' doesn't suddenly grant Turkey a pyrrhic victory, because an apology means nothing when they can rile Turkey into empty rhetoric (like Erdogan's little spiel) and this and still sell them sub-par equipment at exorbitant prices.

The biggest problem in politics today is that politicians are all too quick to verbally condemn events but none too willing to go further
