What is the most ridiculous name you've ever come across?
I've so far met a "baraaro", jiir"" and jilioow" ...

All due respect to anyone who reads this thread called Baraaro, Jiir or Jilicow...

Baraar...Means like my avatar..young fresh goat and lamb...So the women given that name means she is fresh and pure

Jiir(Dooli) is probably a name given to someone who was so little and tiny when he was born....

Jilicow I believe is when someone is born with soft hair although I think that is called Yalaxow...Not sure though..

Somalis can be real cruel when it comes to nicknames tho. They see someone missing a limb, or otherwise deformed instead of looking away they give em that as a recognition and they be like: Ahmed Gacameey, farah Ileey, sahro fanaxleey, Cali lugeey, Abdi faruurey, madaxeey...I saw a family once la dhaho reer cagayare. LOL!

Shuun is a real name...I believe it is like...the top of the tree like they say in Somali baar...we know that tree and it's leaves are more fresh at the top(BTW) I am not sure..
But in the South shuun is hair in somewhere you know..

The other name that is not good in the South is Kinzi...Kinzi means wealth i believe but in the South it is the same as Garac...or wecel..
