Somalia without Tribalism
is a Somalia without Tribalism Utopian, or is it actually possible to achieve a Tribalism free Somalia ?
walaalayaal ku soo dhawaada topika, mowduucaan waa mid oo damaanta dhalinyarta ahmiyad siin ooga baahan, daraadaas waxaan rageena waxgaradka iyo kii miyar qabo in uu ka soo qeebqaato wada hadalkaan inshallah.
Notice: pay attention to the two different terminology, Qabiil and Qabyaalad
most of us understand Qabiil to be:
1) a source for substantial evil(Qabyaalad) and a facilitator for political corruption and disastrous modern wars
2) a source for highly useful tool of recognition(if used correctly), although virtually insignificant in the modern industrialized/urbanized era.
so do you not agree that in order for development, productivity and stability of ourselves and our nation, we will have to invalidate the first of the two derivative of Qabiil hence Qabyaalad.
So how is this possible?, well usually to find the solution to a problem you will need to identify its origin first, in that sense all problems are infact not problems but symptons of problems and until you find the origin of the problem can you only solve it. As earlier explained Qabyaalad is derived from Qabiil, and Qabyaalad as we know it is a gigantic problem, so we need a radical but suitable solution to Qabiil. Now comparing the single positive use of Qabiil with its many obvious vulgarities and harmful side effects, anyone would conclude that the most feasible solution is to reduce/eradicate Qabiil.
for the people who got confused, let me give a more simple analogy. the US is one of the most Giants in the pharmaceutical industry producing Drugs likes there is no tomorrow, unfortunately dozens of types of drugs are misused by people(loser) and provided by gangster(profiteer). What happened? although Drugs have several good uses there is a parallel of misuse, and the scale of this misuse is significant therefore harms the development, productivity and stability of the misuser and the local area it takes place in.
misuser = regular somali farax who is Qabilist (loser)
gangster = warlords, Qabiil group leaders, and all cancer to the Somali society relating to Qabiil (profiteer)

Re: Somalia without Tribalism
Great discussion.
Ok, so we identified the problem.
What is the solution? How do we tackle the issue?
This is the problem my friend, this is the problem.
I have already dismissed anyone but the young as incapable of this change simply because the circumstance and cultural environment in which they have grown up prevents so. You cannot turn a camel shagger into an independent minded enlightened member of civilized society if he has already been exposed to the camel shagging culture.
The young should be our target. Recently in giving reason to the observation some forumers have of me I said this:

Re: Somalia without Tribalism
Sorry to be negative, but I think it might be very hard to get rid of qabiil.
Here's why:
Each generation places a sense of obligation on the next in the matter of qabiil.
Think of parents and uncles and grandparents talking to their children, nieces and grandchildren and inadvertently praising their own qabiil, or praising this or that person because he's our qabiil, or welcoming with wide arms a stranger who happens to be our qabiil. There need not be any negativity implied to other qabiils -- all you need to do is to raise a child in an atmosphere in which your own qabiil is relentlessly praised and preferred.
Negativity to other qabiils then directly stems from that, because you have taught the child that the only Somali that you should care about is one who is of your own qabiil, and that people of other qabiils are non-entities.
In order to get rid of the problem of qabiil, a decisive percentage of Somalis -- I would say as much as 30% -- would have to come to intellectually appreciate the problems and shortcomings of qabiil and the obstacles it posses to meaningful nationhood.
But observe how seemingly "educated" Somalis in the West are still of the qabiil mindset and seem incapable of even coming to see it as a problem. Do you think then that 30% of Somalia is capable of disregarding qabiil?
Also, imagine being in a dark, stinky cave all your life. How can you even begin to think about escaping if you have no conception of there being anything outside the cave? That's the problem that most Somalis find themselves in, and the ones in the West want to return to the cave because they've accustomed to it and a non-qabiil mindset makes them scared.

Re: Somalia without Tribalism
Voltage, I totally agree with you even though I wouldn''t choose 'camel shagger's to describe our elders.
How would you propose to do this? You can't make something unlawful that Allah made lawful. No doubt the cons of qabiil breeding qabyalad outweighs any benefits attained from qabiil but I don't think it is entirely pragmatic nor the least bit feasible to 'eradicate' qabiil but rather find some way to educate and promote qabiil without qabyaalad.snoop12 wrote:Now comparing the single positive use of Qabiil with its many obvious vulgarities and harmful side effects, anyone would conclude that the most feasible solution is to reduce/eradicate Qabiil.
Re: Somalia without Tribalism
although this topic is for the few who acknowledge Qabiil to be the subject that needs to be dealt with, i knew there was going to be this type of response, ANOTHER TOPIC inshallahNarcissistic wrote:Voltage, I totally agree with you even though I wouldn''t choose 'camel shagger's to describe our elders.

but here is a brief explanation.
first of all i am not and can not make Qabiil unlawful(Xaram), my point was that the primitive nature of Qabiil does not fit into a Modern Somalia, the Somalia that was previously experiencing urbanization, adopting technology and industrialization. Current Somalia still have traces of the left over!
although Qabiil cant be deemed Xaram, is not a HOLY obligation, but a MEANS that can be used or not depending on the NEED of the people, if there is no demand for the MEANS of Qabiil, then there will be no NEED.
the MEANS of Qabiil were practical and essential for survival in ancient Somalia and rural Somalia, but no MEANS of Qabiil is feasible or beneficial in Modern Somalia.
to conclude looking into History, during the most advanced era in Somali History hence The Kacaan, the NEED for Qabiil was substantially eradicated in the major cities of Mogadisho, Kismaayo and Hargaisa. Furthermore modern methods were implemented in rural Somalia such as water well drilling, Tree planting, etc etc this reduced the NEED of Qabiil even in the rural area(the only place were Qabiil can be excused), and what happened was Somalis did not need to summon their fellow tribes men to fight over a water well or a forest for their camels.
again this is why Qabiil is not compatible with Modern day Somalia, it will only destroy it!
1) a source for substantial evil(Qabyaalad) and a facilitator for political corruption and disastrous modern wars with genocidal effects
2) a source for highly useful tool of recognition(if used correctly), although virtually insignificant in the modern industrialized/urbanized era.
