I don't understand but Somalis seem to worship this concept. If you approach a girl that is Even a year Older, The answer would automatically be " You are Younger than Me" but What if? if this girl agrees to marry you, There goes the gossip. Naagta ayaa Kawayn, aqliga ayay kaxaday, way sixirtay bla bla bla bla Shit.

Q- for the guys- what is the big deal if You Marry a girl that is just few years Older than you ( Like 2,3, or be a year older)?

Q- for the Girls- Why would you have to turn down a guy that is just a year or two years younger than you?

the girl is older than you doesnt mean she is smarter than you, its just asking if you guys are on the same page. i think this developed into a theory after it was tested that girls with younger age tend to have more children than older ones, an esteemed reward and aim of islamic marriages. this concept is not as popular in the west as in the east, where quality of life, affordability, and education are more of a priority. if you think like the west, compatibility is more important to you, if in the east, children are. some of us in the west are changing our concepts and rethinking our priorities, but some are just sticking with the old. plus what is the probability of you ending up with someone that much older than you, you wont be in the same class, and you should socialize personally with people not your age at work. personally 1 to 2 years are nothing to me, as the 2.5 ratio creeps into me

Some Men would Never marry a woman who is older than them,They have their own reasons.Personally,I dont like to be in such a situation.Just a preference of mine.

right saaxiib. But even if it is fertility reason, If you are 22 and you end up marrying a girl that is 25yrs old, She could still have babies upto 43. Mathematically she could have 43-25= 18/2 ( say she has a baby every 2yrs) = 9 babies. She could still give you 9 babies which won't be difference if I am 30yrs old and Marry a girl that is 25yrs old. The people would welcome the 30 marrying the 25yrs old even though it won't have any children factor.

I know sxb. but what Makes Prefer a younger than you girl to an older than you one? What exactly in your heart and mind that is telling you that is right and that is wrong? Sxb I don't understand How people prefer something to something without having a reason. I just can't follow the crowd if I don't know where they are heading. The Myth is Naag kaawayn lama guursado or Nin kaayar lama guursado for girls but No one know exactly why. What is exactly the reason. Suppose I marry a girl that is 4yrs older than I am, What would happen that would not have happen if I was 4yrs older than her?

I think the MAIN reason why Somali always prefer to marry women younger than them is this: kids and lots of kids. But the irony is that a girl in her late 20s (and say 5 yrs older than you) can have many kids if all is ok with her and you. I am talking from experience here

There is girl I know here in London (she is quite young) and I used to fancy/stark her mom (who is about 9 yrs older than moi)

Some Somalis dont even marry people from other qabils, weird and wrong.

And older lady will take care of her man much better than a young doocil in my view.

I think someone's physical body age is more important their chronological age
