Ah, the great Pan African Unity.
Whole thing was for the most part about Sudan, its upcoming election, and Oil. "Sudan better watch out or it'll become another Somalia". Ouch.
Anyway, Nomadic, what do u think of the Malawi pick over Khaddafi who wanted to stay for 4 more terms..Pure jokes

lol

Amethyst - Only Gadhaffi can pull a stunt like that. After his bid for another term failed. He announced that he will try to seek Arab League chairmanship.
Pres Mutharika is a great choice to lead AU until next year. I think he can be more effective than high profile leaders such as Gadhafi. Malawi is a small country with less influence in Africa so as a chairman he can play the neutrality card during mediation. I'm sure there will be coups next year to handle.
Of course when it came to the issue of Somalia, most of the leaders recognized the dire situation in Somalia but with the UN boss affirming that there is no peace to keep in Somalia, no help will come.

lol. Is Egypt in the Al Maghrebiyah group? Inta kale waa iska misaakimiin, so I could easily see that happening for him.
Yeah Mutharika will do. Keeping busy quelling the continents 60's fever...His never again wont prolly hold thru the summer. After all "TIA"! lol
The UN put out some nifty little paper with recommendation on AmniSom's continued presence in Somalia, a coupla days ago. Something the TFG clearly backed, seeing how their survival depended on it. I'm thinking thats pretty much it then, huh?

Amtheyst - Definitely TIA.

I don't know about Egypt. 2010-2011 looks like a great year for Libya, they will be hosting conferences with the EU and South America blocs. That's enough publicity for the "Leader". You are right about the UN reconciliation process when it comes to Somalia. They are quick to come up with non binding resolutions. Maybe an African solution is needed over there.
