although the great majority of them are ethnically habesh, their culture, in a lot ways is closer to the somali culture than ethiopian habeshi one is. don't know much about this country or habeshis in general for that matter. does anyone know why this is the case. why the eritrean culture seems less alien to me (and i suppose other somalis) the habeshi one is. is it because there are more muslims in eritrea percentage wise than there are in habeshi ethiopia or is it because of the italian colonization?

Eritrean = national...not a single culture, language, or group.
Some of them are Cushitic and share cultural similarity to us. Some are Muslim and share cultural similarity to us.

true, eritreans are people of many differing cultures and religion but i am talking about the majority. even in a diverse country like the united states, there is still a common culture and way of life that almost all the inhabitants of the land share. that common culture in eritrea, to me, is less alien than the habeshi ethiopian one.
emperior, as an avid and proud supporter of the seccession of somaliland, you should be admiring the struggle of the eritrean people for independence.
