MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—More than hundred Somali immigrants deported from Kenya and Saudi Arabia have been returned back to the Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Nine Somalis, eight of them women have been deported from Nairobi to Mogadishu after 20 days of detention and landed in Aden Adde International airport in Mogadishu.
These people were among hundreds of Somalis arrested in towns across Kenya after the Kenyan police made swoop operations against the Somali immigrants living in Kenya.
Fartun Mohamed, a Somali immigrant woman deported from Kenya told reporters the Kenyan police harassed her while she was in the jail.
Separately, hundred Somali immigrants deported from Saudi Arabia were brought in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Most of the Somali immigrants deported from Saudi Arabia are women and children who fled from the wars in the Somali capital.
