Detectives investigating the murder of 21-year-old Mahmood Jama in January are releasing an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
Mohamed Farah Ali, 18-years-old (1.1.92) is sought as officers believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries into Mahmood's death.
Ali is described as:
* a British Somali male
* 5'7" tall
* medium build
* has a small scar on his right cheek
His last known address was in E7, but officers believe he may have spent time recently in the Basildon area of Essex.
He also has links to Newham and Woolwich.
Officers continue to appeal for witnesses and information to the murder, which occurred in a block of flats in Forest Gate on Wednesday 6 January.
Police were called at approximately 01.10hrs that morning to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Whyteville House, Studley Road E7.
Mahmood - a British citizen born in Somalia - was found on the first floor landing, suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was taken to Royal London Hospital where he died at 03:44hrs.
A post-mortem examination at Poplar Mortuary on January 7 gave cause of death as a shotgun wound to the chest.
An incident room opened under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Dunne from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).
Detectives believe that an altercation took place between two groups of youths on a former garage forecourt in Studley Road at its junction with Upton Lane and continued into Whyteville House where the victim was shot.
Although arrests have been made, officers stress that the investigation continues and they still need help from the public - all the points of their appeal are still relevant.
Anyone who recognises Ali from the photograph or who is aware of his whereabouts is asked not to approach him, but to call either the incident room or 999.
Any person who witnessed the incident or who has information which could assist police should call the incident room on 020 8721 4906.

"O Allaah, forgive and have mercy upon him, excuse him and pardon him, and make honorable his reception. Expand his entry, and cleanse him with water, snow, and ice, and purify him of sin as a white robe is purified of filth. Exchange his home for a better home, and his family for a better family, and his spouse for a better spouse. Admit him into the Garden, protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire."
