Parents and their put-downs

Post by OliveOil »

Walahi it makes me sooo mad every time my parents try to put me down. Whenever we collide in an argument due to our lack of understanding and/or awareness of the conflicts we go through, they say negative things to me...as if it will build me up!! I hope they can understand me more and not bring me down and by giving me answers would help tremendously. Do they actually believe that it will help me? Studies have shown that verbal put-downs do not help with the person's development but rather slows them down!!!! aaarrrrrgggggg :x :x :x

All parents are like that.

Your parents will do that until you make $60k/year. The day you get your hands out of their pocket they will love you again.

In these kinds of situations, it's always best to put yourself in their shoes and try to look at it from their perspective. It's possible that they're right and you're a failure as a daughter.

When you get married and Allah bless you with a daughter
you wil understand ur parents better. Most parents forget to mention the good things and
focus on the bad things. They are just human and make mistakes like everyone els...no body is perfect!! REMEMBER that. Aduunka dhan waxa dad ka buuxa iyaga uun ba ka naxaya...22yrs bay ku soo koraynayen...xogoodi iyo lacagtoodi wad qabta.Ilaa iyo hadana way ku warwarayan oo waxay rabaan inad meel iska soo saartid ood waqtigaaga ka faaiydaysatid. They just want the best for you so dont disappoint them.

Talk to them and tell them what you just wrote here.
