Mashallah, at last we have a decent leader who has vision and does not have blood on he's hands, He is smart and knows how too build a transitional government and all the key institutions. Most importantly he keeps US, Britain and the international community on somalia's side. Because we could really use all the help we can get to stabilize our country

In a different era, Shariff might have been a good leader. he reminds me of Thomas Sankara, like Sankara he is a president who wants to improve the conditions of Somalis. But in these difficult times, I believe he is not the right man to lead southern Somalis. he is weak and inept and incapable of fighting animals like the Al-Shabab. for goodness sakes, the man is a geography teachers by trade not a crusader against Islamic extremist.

marcassmith i accept that Shariff is not a militry man but thats a good thing do. Beceause all of the previous presidents were military man that only made things worse, In fact this guy is making things a lot better even with shabaab around.
I mean he is using he's head to get the EU, US and the world involved into helping somalia build up its institutions.
Somalia's military and police are shaping up in professional institutions after a long time in none-existence.
He is calm and relaxed and mainly using he's hand to make situations in favor of somalia when they were not

Personality traits are one thing - I like the mannerism and character of sharif, but a president is judged on policy and the outcome of those policy. Though sharif is severely restricted in his capacity to act, I am glad that he is making improvements. This is a positive step indeed.
