Laakiin what do you expect this is the 1st time uu dhul soomaaliyeed caga dhigo. Bal eeg waji fiican iyo gacmo furan baa lagu soo dhaweeyey dabeedna few dollars buu siistey waxaa soon dhan, laakiin isagey utaalaa markuu barito yimaado ayuu ka sheekayn doonaa.

I have countless pictures of K'naan and my good friend from Somalilandpress.com. K'naan was cordially welcomed and hosted and it is really pathetic that he would insult the love and hospitality shown to him by mis-characterizing the peace and stability of Somaliland.

But he is a Hip Hop Star and this should not be lost on us. His career path requires certain level of street-credit to remain relevant. In this, the image of Somaliland was simply a "collateral damage"

Just like any gangster wanna be in the hood who acts like he cheats death every time he goes back to the streets, this soft ass nigga has to act hard and tough like inuu naaro ka so cabay by going back “HOME”. It’s all about the image.

I think he will regret giving that interview. It was bad PR for him all around.
It will certainly contradict the documentary he was shooting.

Like I said before when he first arrived in Hargeisa, the local public will see him the ultimate dhaqan celis product and everything that is wring with us in Diaspora. They don’t see his music or new found fame in the west through hip hop as a success.

Where did he say this ?

P.S. Doqonka should have gone to either Galkacyo or Mogadishu to help out his needy kin instead of going to Hargeysa.

The whole reason he went to Hargeisa was because of the safety aspect. But you know with these "gangster wannabes" they have to validate their gangsterism with the threat of perpetual violence

He'd have been more credible if he said that he'd had to deal with threats of airborn malaria attacks from genocidal mosquitoes but that don't sell CD's

Skippa,

I spoke to this Farax about heading to Galmudug and doing some benefit work there. Shiid, he could have even made a Pirate Mixtape too, instead he went to Hargeysa instead of his tribal homeland.

AW,

Saaxiib horta let us clarify something. He didn’t go to help out any one nor did he contribute to the locals economically. He didn’t even hold little concert in Freedom Garden for charity. He went there to promote his image and create documentary about his background like others did before him in Africa Haiti and many other places.
According to those pixs above, he simply used the public to create beautiful themes for his movie and now he’s here in the west bad mouthing these same people who showered him with love, including his beloved favorite poet of Hadraawi , by saying they were trying to kill me instead.

Obviously, those people don’t have the same media outlet to defend themselves. He’s taking advantage of that “privilege” platform and putting dagger on their back. That is a display of poor character in his behalf.

My impression of him, from the one time I saw him in person was that he was Zen really; Peace & Love so I don't know what his motivation is. Maybe he wanted to get some footage for his next video, or it could be that he was looking to get inspired, I heard that he met with people like hadraawi and such; You check some of his tunes like "what's hardcore" and you can tell that he's embellishing a little but that is expected. As for visiting his kin, understand that most people back home are needy and he's just getting his feet wet so it's possible that he's trying to avoid being in a position where he can't meet all the requests for assistance that he'd surely get.
