A discussion about Somalia

First and foremost its a beautiful country without its people.
Somalia had its chance of becoming one of Africa's leading nations but it failed simply because its people were not honest and attributes like patriotism seems to be conditional to how many seats or influence a person's clan has in the Somali govt/political sphere.
Somalia is a country created by colonialists and has all the reasons to fail. Historically there has been no central authority between the North and the South of Somalia and thus each regions developed their own culture.
The northerners are frank and are not used to being sly and they were colonised by the Brits while the South was colonised by the Italians and are very sly.
though in the North there was colaboration with the colonialists while others resorted to fighting them the bottom line is they had a better life as the colonialsit did not leave a legacy that was ingrained into their culture.
In the South however the Italian colonisation had become ingrained into the culture as the Italians created an apatheid system and some parts some somalis were engaged in forced labour.
Hoever it can also be argued that the South become viable and self sustaining after the post colonialsim era sisnce the Italians had constructed alot of infrustructure and introduced mass farming like plantations. So did the south rebuild the North? as the North was mostly left un developed by the Brits.
The answer is No and Yes and mostly No since When the two regions were merging the UN had allocated large sums of Money for the development of the North but questions arise as to whether this funds were utilised in the most appropriate ways or were they embezzled?
Seems like after independence Somalia enjoyed a relatively a semblance of democracy under Aden Cade. After that it seems like the country was steered by leaders who were were heavily influenced by nepotism and this ushered in the decadence of this emerging country.There was however a short period of joy when MSB took over in the bloodless coup and it seems that the political atmosphere changed alot in the mid 70's where nepotism was reintroduced and slowly barrowed through the system.
The 1977 war happened and questions are to be asked was the war genuine or not? Cos in many pics you would see somali leaders shaking hands with their supposed enemies prior and after the war.
In the early 80's Somalia experienced a cold war between respective Somali politicians which turned into real conflicts after its leaders decided to incite ethnic tensions among peaceful communities in a bid of divide and rule strategy. Alot of attrocities were commited and the one that had the highest impact was the one that was commited against the Northerners who were Somali citizens.
In 1990's Somalia was engulfed in a civil war and the capital was destroyed and it is quite disturbing to see how the beautiful country was turned into ruins by its people and land marks resembled roman buildings. Seems like the country that was less than 30 yrs old had become an archeological site.
The era of the warlords ensued and what was seen as the only hope(2006) was infact a Funeral of Somalia and seems like a country that had died in 1991 was yet awaiting to be buried and it happened in 2006.
The country currently is under bantustants the North wanting to susceed while North East region declared a self autonomy. The deep south is ruled by religous fanatics and the only hope for Somalia lies in a man without any credentials with the name Sh Sharif( has no secular nor religous education fledged with the fact that he has no political experience and is just another mistake awaiting to happen among the major mistakes that transpired).
When we talk about someone good example Obama ,he is well educated and had some experience while working as a senator. He also has a credible team that is entirely called the Obama administration.
As for Sharif he is an individual (forgeting about his background lets look inot his administration ) some people want to force us beleive that he is the Messiah not only that his adminsitration is composed of people or persons that had direclty contributed to the civil war and opportunists who would do anything to amass wealth.
I ask the supporters of Sharif to provide me with even one sound reason how he is different from C/Yussuf (P.S without any prejudice of clanism). I dont know how to end this but I want to say is its only the people who can reform Somalia it seems like Somalia political situation is like escaping the frying pan and jumping into the fire.
I am not saying that I am an expert in somali politics but this is my two cents perception of Somalias situation.
Lets hope for the best but lets not be fooled as once bitten twice shy or fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.
