All ethnic somalis are related, one way or another. But over the centuries I think they took on other peoples and labelled them as somali as well.

They are essentially the exact same people who are just mentally divided.

Just look at that map and look how diverse Ethiopia is genetically while Somalia is fairly homogenous.

Somali is an ethnic group making all ethnic somalis the same, and hawiye ect is just family history thats why its called "Clan".

This is something the biggest layman will understand. You can bring Me a room full of Somalis from every clan in Somalia (Excluding minorities such as Bajuun, Bantu, Reer Xamar) and I will not be able to tell who is who. However while I do not know Ethiopian subgroup's geneology, I'm sure Ethiopians can tell apart a Tigray from a Amharic and a Oromo. Somalis are a extremely langaab related subgroup, that were fed lies for centuries.

Genetics doesn't mean shit. I can find a man from Papa new guinea with the same y chromosomal haplogroup as a man from china and it doesn't mean anything.
