Asalaam Aleikum. brothers and sisters here is a news from ...............,DENVER (AP) - A Colorado congressman told a radio show host that the U.S. could "take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists attacked the country with nuclear weapons.

Rep. Tom Tancredo made his remarks Friday on WFLA-AM in Orlando, Fla. His spokesman stressed he was only speaking hypothetically.

Talk show host Pat Campbell asked the Littleton Republican how the country should respond if terrorists struck several U.S. cities with nuclear weapons.

"Well, what if you said something like -- if this happens in the United States, and we determine that it is the result of extremist, fundamentalist Muslims, you know, you could take out their holy sites," Tancredo answered.

"You're talking about bombing Mecca," Campbell said.

"Yeah," Tancredo responded.

The congressman later said he was "just throwing out some ideas" and that an "ultimate threat" might have to be met with an "ultimate response."

Spokesman Will Adams said Sunday the four-term congressman doesn't support threatening holy Islamic sites but that Tancredo was grappling with the hypothetical situation of a terrorist strike deadlier than the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

"We have an enemy with no uniform, no state, who looks like you and me and only emerges right before an attack. How do we go after someone like that?" Adams said.

"What is near and dear to them? They're willing to sacrifice everything in this world for the next one. What is the pressure point that would deter them from their murderous impulses?" he said.

Tancredo is known in the House for his tough stand on immigration and had a 100 percent rating last year from the American Conservative Union his votes and positions on issues.

Mohammad Noorzai, coordinator of the Colorado Muslim Council and a native of Afghanistan, said Tancredo's remarks were radical and unrepresentative but that people in Tancredo's position need to watch their words when it comes to sacred religious sites and texts.

Funny, statement like this would have caused an uproar few years ago. I wonder why that is.

Wacalaykum Salam,

""take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists attacked the country with nuclear weapons"

Oh please, they plan....Allah (SWT) plans too! They will NEVER do any harm WITHOUT Allah (SWT) wills.

May Allah (SWT) protect us from our enemies (Ameen)

Wallahi, they are just trying to find excuses to destroy Islam but Islam will stand firm!

Salam

Looking for excuses? I don't think a nuclear attack on a US city is what I would describe as "an excuse".

I have a question,

what would have happened if people using the name of christianity or judaism attacked buses and trains in Teheran, Riyad, Cairo, Islamabad, Mogadishu?????

Isn't it possible that even the moderate muslims would have declared a holy jihad???????

Indeed, that is what has happened- Nairobi, New York, London, Madrid are "christian" cities- and it wouldn't surprise me if those kinds of statements are echoed by religious and political leaders!

Globetrotter,
Notice how they haven't answered the question.

Globe: I don't know what's happening in London, with all that sensationalist press fueling against the muslim community, which is really sad and unfair, but here, in Spain, we all knew how to differentiate muslims and terrorists. Whatever terrorists use the name of Islam for their criminal actions we know they're not muslim at all, but isolated fanatics.

The sad thing is that muslim community in London is not speaking loud and clear against those guys. It's the muslim duty to erase them from the face of the Earth, to dennounce them, to accuse them. That's what muslims in Spain did after the Madrid attacks: they were the first ones to help the police, to become translators, to become volunteers in the investigations. That's the reason the guys were found just three weeks after the attacks. They blown up themselves.

Muslims in Spain come here to get a life, a job, money, a house. They can't allow that someone, in the name of a so-called religion, destroy their lives here.

It's true that there are some few fanatics living here and hating us Western and wanting to destroy us. In the same way that there some fanatic guys working for ETA. But hey, not all basques are ETA.

That's what British people have to understand: one thing is muslims, another completly different thing are terrorists or fanatics.

But, in the other hand, since we have here two burning points, Iraq and Palestina, we'll have problems -all of us- all over the world. The main thing now is to end with those two conflicts. The West failed on those two problems. But now, instead acussing each others of those problems, we have to think how to solve them.

Kamal

Solve them? I hope so mate, but let us not be naïve. The new American empire that is taking shape has different plans. America has long ago decided to go alone and flex it’s muscles to prove that it has a “God” (the way neo-cons use) given right to become the only hegemonic state. Fasten your seat belt, it’s gonna be a rough ride, because this group (PNAC) have devised a radical grand plan, designed and signed by many neo-cons including media magnate Robert Murdoch, long before GWB came to power. Check out this website, and check the date and see if it fits what is happening today.

1998, the letter below was a recommendation from people out of government, but today it represents US government policy. Are they interested in solving anything?

www.newamericancentury.org

Below also look under statements to view the list of Bush policy makers, media barons and powerbrokers who colluded to advance this mentality of American global dominance.

And the “war on terror” presented just the right pretext for American global primacy with just the right antagonist and catalyst found in few Muslim militancy- a borderless, faceless, nameless, global shadow to be chased into every globally strategic area. Could such a golden opportunity for the PNAC crowd be a coincidence By the way, here is a link to a letter from the PNAC to Clinton in 1998 in support of an invasion of Iraq.

http://www.newamericancentury.org/iraqclintonletter.htm

Here is an old article form the Atlanta Journal Constitution detailing the PNAC and its 2000 report. It clearly lays out the global empire agenda. To understand it, please read the links below;

Or, " The president's real goal in Iraq"

Kamal, could a "new American century" mean something besides imperialism?.....And already it has unleashed so much violence.

Thankx for the links and it all seems rather suspect to me. My prayere is that the reality will soon be uncovered by the American people, so the whole world can breathe with ease, and live in peace with fellow mankind.

There are many players in the global game of chess on the world map, and the major players lurk in the background.

Try to discover who seeks to gain most by such a move, and you will be nearer to catching the true culprits, the real terrorisers of all humanity, the actual criminals who ought to be placed firmly behind bars.
