MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Al Shabaab insurgents have flogged three people in Bardhere town in Gedo region in southern Somalia, officials said on Tuesday.
A Sharia court under al Shabaab administration in the town has sentenced two men and a woman to be flogged.
Sheikh Mohamed Salad, the judge of the court said Halimo Mohamed Fidow has been sentenced to be whipped 12 lashes in a public palace after she has convicted marrying of two men.
Hundreds of people in the town gathered in the police station where the woman and the two men were punished.
“Omar Shiqow, an uncle to the woman was whipped 10 lashes after his mobile was seen something against the Sharia,” the judge said.
Abdullahi Mohamed Abdirahman, the husband of the woman was lashed 8 flogs after he was accused of seducing a married woman.
