Saudi Arabia deports about 125 Somalis

At least one hundred and twenty five illegal Somali immigrants have been deported from Saudi Arabia and returned back to Mogadishu, officials and witnesses at the Aden Ade airport in Mogadishu have said.

The deported people who were mostly youth were arrested last month, according to sources in Mogadishu airport who pleaded anonymity.

One of the deported people told officials in the airport that Saudi Arabian police tortured him. The man who fled from the war in Mogadishu was arrested a day after reaching in Saudi Arabia and jailed for one month before his deportation.

“They beat me like a criminal, I am not criminal, I only came to seek for a safe place,” the man said.

Somalis used to travel to Yemen on their way to Saudi Arabia and also use Libya as a stepping stone to Europe for looking for better life.

The Al-shabaab hardliners linked to Al-Qaeda controls most of southern Somalia while the weak Somali government backed by western countries runs only a little of the country.

The fighting in Somalia has killed over 19,000 Somalis since 2007 and 1.5 million people displaced inside the country while another 560,000 civilians have registered as refugees in neighbouring countries. Somalia is one of the world's worst humanitarian emergencies.

You have a point there, as unsavoury as it may be. I find the hardest working somalis are the ones in the khaliij and somalia, while the laziest are the european ones.

It's a matter of time before they start behaving like they did in Mogadishu....This has nothing to do with racism because there are also thousands of skilled Nigerians / Ugandans and other Africans working there without any problems

I dont care for their immigration control, they can shut the borders to anyone they like. But they have been known to torture people (even in this article), I have heard so many cases where these atrocities were committed against Somalis. The famous ones barely make the press, like when those Somalis were killed 'Islamically' for stealing cars...I would rather they simply deported them all back, chopped off the hand for theft etc. But they have a sick human rights record.

These gaalo countries that everyone hates so much have given people sharci, education, security etc...they may not be perfect, but lets not even begin to compare them to the Bedouins of KSA. At least when these guys dont want you, they ship you back...and there is more of a chnace they are held accountable for the times they dont.

Why would you even go there, do u think they will care if you are a hawiye, darood or isaaq? To them you are a Somali, plain and simple.
