Majerteen and Ciisa are the largest clans reported and historically Majerteen, Cissa, and Ogaden were the largest Somali clans, Marehan were the same size or a bit smaller than Habar Awal is my guess. Marehan were almost unheard of in the early colonial era.

If Majerteen were 104,000, Cissa wee 70,000, those two clans alone account for nearly 20% of the Somali people, there is only space for few other clans and you think Marehan are another huge block, where does that leave the rest of the Somali population? Lets get real, only Majerteen, Ciisa and Ogaden were renowned for their large numbers.
