A question for the unmarried ladies

Are any of you getting pressure from your family to get married and have kids already and if so how do you handle it?

On Tuesday my married cousin gave birth to a healthy 9 pound, bouncing, blue eyed baby girl. Just as the pics were emailed to me I got another one from the older women in my family wanting to know if I’m serious with someone. That’s their way of asking if there is marriage in the near future.

Today I got an email with and article about how much harder it is for women in their 30s to find husbands than it is for women in their 20s. IM NOT EVEN 30 YET!!!

How can I tell my well meaning but meddling and annoying older female relatives to chill out with out hurting their feelings?

As for the question, tell them that since you don't have time to waste there is this really nice muslim Jamaican guy at work that you are thinking about marrying. That should shut them up for a while.

Not a phrase. I think they will turn more hazel in the next couple of months. Thats what usually happens to most of the babies who are born with blue eyes in my family.

That probably wouldn't work. If anything they would start getting images of hot Island guys from How Stella Got her Groove Back

Wow. I haven’t had to answer this in a loooong time.

Joined hear about 3 years ago because I had a Somali roommate. Never met a Somali before so I was googling stuff about them and came upon this forum.

I got sucked in and never left though I only post every once in a while now.

People who get married and have children under 28 have a 76% divorce rate.

Actually its 35. Thats when a womans fertility starts to slow down but if shes healthy she usually still has about 5 to 8 years left.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t plan to be one of those women who wail until they’re near 40 to start having kids.

However I don’t want to be one of those 76% either. Plus I wouldn’t consider marrying most men under 30. You guys take even longer to grow up than we women do.
