Most major development of Somali infrastructure since 1991

Post by Oxidant »

What is the most major development of Somali infrastructure since 1991?

Since Somalia was liberated from Siad Barre’s rule by heroic groups such as USC/SNM and SSDF. All regions have been free for his tyranny. After 20 years and much sacrifice what can be said about Somali infrastructure. What would you show fallen warriors from USC/SNM and SSDF, to vindicate their struggle was worth it?

I would show them those two states, they could see the progress that has been made in infrastructure and the improvement in the general quality of life for their inhabitants. Thereby proving their struggle was not futile.

Better life? Please, the boats are still filling up to get to Yemen.

Did those men fight for these states to be Ethiopian controlled?

Most of them would be turning in their graves

Does this guy really wants me to come out with my Puntland Pictures and compare it to the whole south?

Puntland Cities went from half villages to top notch Somali cities today in 12 years. Aaba Siyad is only missed in the South, in particual, Mogadishu Gedo, iyo Kismayo.

All of the major developments of Somali infrastructure before 1991 were made possible by the International Community.

No matter how fucked up Somalia is now and will become, you will never convince us that the tyrant Afweyne was somehow good for Somalia. Matter of fact, Somalia's current and future state will only strengthen that very point.

Somalia just needs peace and foreign investment will come after. But right now no matter how much progress they have achieved in the north, when you look at it from a global perspective Somalia = shithole. Folks it hurts me to say it, but no matter how much bosaso is "booming", it can't even compete with a city in bangladesh, vietnam, nigeria etc.

Why do I care about if Puntland is better than Somalia or vice versa. Puntland is desert which is currently using a makeshift port while South Somalia has two ports. South Somalia is a violent place which cannot find peace

Really, that isn't the point. It's about development. 20 years of free rule, what do they have to show for it?

Why are you always bringing the the somali before 1991 on the table? MSB AUN built Somalia with the finance of foreign countries. The main road between Garowe and Bosaso was built by Italy, the port of Mogadishe was built by foreign countries. Somalia lived from hand outs for crying out loud, don't act like MSB's regime was some kind of economical greatness, wwe lived from hand-outs, we were at the mercy of other countries, when they stopped their suport the country collapsed, that says alot.

You keep mentioning the boats to yemen, believe me if reer mudug or reer somaliland were able to flee during the red berret terror they would. Besides alot of Students never came back to Somalia before when they got scholarship, i wonder why.
