Who is going to Hajj this year?
And how are you preparing for it? Also, if you have went to the Hajj recently, can you tell us the process?

I've made plans to go, InshaAllaah. I hear preparing for Hajj takes minimum 2 months.

Re: Who is going to Hajj this year?
I might be taking My Mom this year. I already made it before, but She needs to go. I just have some major financial stuff to take care of this year for other issues. But Yea, definitely You want to be as knowledgable as possible in the Hajj before You go, so We don't fall into bidca or with some people shirk even.
Voltage/YoungFresh,
Yea, maybe we'll meet up at one of the restarants

How long did it take you Murax..two weeks max right? And about the meeting part it could happen, I heard the Somali travel groups from the U.S. and Europe book the same hotels.

My bro went to Hajj recently and he prepared with this handy book that prepares you on the Ducas to recite and all the rituals and customs at any given stage during Hajj. Inta kale, reading a lot of Quran!Voltage wrote:And how are you preparing for it? Also, if you have went to the Hajj recently, can you tell us the process?
He ended up correcting mistakes of others who went to Hajj many times before, and it was the first time for him.

Murax, may Allah SWT Make it easy for u sxb. It's no financial joke, Hajj is a small fortune.
I didn't really see any good restaurants there, unless you're thinking the KFC across from King Fahad Gate (with the a/c)
if u ilkayar dudes try anything, I'll tell the Saudi police y'all co-stole my wallet with both hands...chop-chop
Voltage, at Mina, you stay in tents according to what country you're from and what part of the world (ex: North Americans in the same area, with Americans together and Canadians together...Europeans in the same area, with all the different countries close together, etc.)
Cinque, a lot of people will fight u if u tell them they're getting their Bidca on.

But it was dumb things like reciting the wrong duca and stuff like that or not doing duca at all where you should. Those he corrected acknowledged they were ill prepared. A lot of brothers and sisters don't prepare and end up 'hanging out' at the Xaramka. I know a cousin who had spent entire hours just chillin, staring at people and taking pictures of the Kacba loooooool.

The kind of Bidca I'm talking about is much crazier though. For example, when you're making tawwaf, you're supposed to silently recite duca's to yourself. I saw like 100 Suufis led by their leader, and he was chanting ducas for himself out loud and they were all yelling "Amiin!" behind him after every one...I wouldn't be surprised if they each lost $100 a week later and he found $10,000 the following week

I saw another Shi'a lady take her sali out and start rubbing it against the Ka'ba while I was making tawwaf...I don't get the point of that, it's not like you're gonna go home and say "where's the sali with the picture of the Ka'ba on it...that has the Ka'ba on it!"
Re: Who is going to Hajj this year?

Btw, I know the KFC You're talking about, but KFC is a novelty for those folks Man, I was talking about the decent rice/kabab type stuff. Ironically that stuff is dirt cheap. You're right, Hajj is expensive, if You're talking about 2 people wow, it could reach 10k.
Voltage,
Actually it doesn't take 2 weeks, but You definitely want to be there no less then the first day of Dhul Hijjah, and the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are sacred. Hajj ends on the 13th so Yea, two weeks MINIMUM if You're going hardcore. Now if You're going with Your Mom, or Eedo or something they're gonna want to go to Jeddah and go to the "Jeddah Eastleigh"

So to be safe You wanna give 3 weeks to really enjoy Yourself and also visit Madina.
Cinque,
With a lot of the Duas in those books bro, those are just reccomended ones, but You can make any dua in any language. But Your'e right if someone learns a lot of ducooyin before they go thats great. If they go and read from a book, You'll be bumping into ppl constantly, which makes for a really uncomfortable tawaaf.

Man I think I would be on a time frame but I am dead set on going this year with my mom. Looks like I need to start doing a lot of research.

If You're going with Your Mom 3 weeks would be ideal...If You are on a serious time frame, 10 days is feasableVoltage wrote:Man I think I would be on a time frame but I am dead set on going this year with my mom. Looks like I need to start doing a lot of research.

Re: Who is going to Hajj this year?
Hajj can be a very demanding endeavor physically and mentally.
I suggest that you throughly educate yourself of the rituals and the duas of the Hajj so that your money doesn't go to waste, also knowing what you meant do to and when you were meant to do makes one independant and not tied to Hajj groups who take longer than necessary to go trough the rituals.
Forexample, If you are not accompanied by older family member, you can go and perform the first Cumra as soon as you arrive Makka and wear your normal clothes afterwards thats if you are performing the Hajj Tamatu.
During Hajj its alot easier to walk from Muzdaliffa in the morning of the main Hajj day and proceed to Minna dump your sleeping bag there and go to the Jamarat (dagaxtuurka) and then proceed to Makka on foot going through well-ventilated tunnels (it takes no more then 40-45 min of relaxed walk) this way you make it to the Kabba around 7:30am while its still reletively empty thus allowing you to do easies Dawaf and Sacyi (between Safa and Marwa) You do all of this while most Pilgrims are stuck in the stand still Traffic jam (on Buses).
After you do your Tawaful Ifada and Sacyi you can go for the shave take shower in the nearby hotels and buy $10 qamiis.
you can then wait for Duhr while watching the ever-increasing cwords struggle to do the tawaf (the mosque was full by 11am) and sacyi which becomes really hard as you take one step at a time. The Dawaf and Sacyi will get tougher to do as they will be distrupted by the day prayers Durh, Asr, Maghrib, etc. It takes as long as from Duhr to Maghrib for some to just do dawaf and Sacyi
After you pray Duhr you can proceed to Minna
and enjoy your lunch there by 2pm.
The group I was with went from Muzdaliffa done the Jamaratt 1 (dagaxtuur) and went back to Minna. They did the three day of dhagaxtuur at each pillar and done their Tawaful Ifada and Sacyi at the end of Hajj
This meant they needed to stay in their Ixraam clothes all that time.
another advice is watch what you eat
eat only fruits that you peel and canned food
Choose good position (away from exit and neat toilets) in the tents
enjoy.
