Sudan and the color confusion!

Sudan means the land of the Black, since the country has different racial groups, those so called of Arab ancestry used to use the term white while non-Arabs (indigenous people) used black to refer to their skin color. Few days ago, a reporter talking about the Sudanese elections said the terms white and black has been replaced by red for those who have a lighter skin color and blue for those of dark complexion.
I wonder if red/blue is any better than white/black, same shit different terms.
