Teenager shoots himself dead after posting Facebook messge saying: 'My life is so pathetic'By

Daily Mail Reporter
14th April 2010

A schoolboy shot himself dead after leaving a message on Facebook that read: 'My life is so pathetic'.
Ross Langmead, 18, was described by friends as 'very bright' with a promising future ahead. He planned to attend medical school later this year to study to become a doctor.
But the schoolboy was found dead at his family home at the weekend after leaving haunting messages on his Facebook page.

One said: 'Never take life seriously - no one ever gets out alive anyway'.
A second message added: 'My life is so pathetic'.
Ross, who was a qualified lifeguard and was due to take A-Levels in geography, chemistry and biology next month, also left unhappy face icons.
He shot himself at home in Pontyclun with a pistol he used at a local gun club where he was a member.
He leaves behind his parents Marc and Lisa, and a younger brother Jack, 15.

Police were today studying his computer but said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

His cousin Karl Langmead said: 'Ross was a qualified lifesaver - he was a quiet and polite lad.

'This is a massive shock to the family. My heart goes out to his parents, grandparents and brother.'

Prayers have been said at Y Pant Comprehensive School in the village of Pontyclun where Ross was a star pupil.
Headteacher Stuart Tucker said the mood at the school had been sombre since children returned from the Easter holidays.
He said: 'The whole school is shocked and saddened by the news. Ross was a very nice lad who got on with everybody.

'We've had two special assemblies, both for Year 12 and Year 10, which is the year Ross's brother Jack is in.'

Two tribute pages have been set up on Facebook with hundreds of messages left.
Brother Jack wrote : 'Ross, you were my everything' while friend Rachel Pugh described him as 'Caring, loving and funny'.
School friend Bethan Haines said: 'It's a big shock for all his friends at school. Everyone has said that they will miss him.
'It's so sad to think that we would have been going to our prom this year if this hadn't have happened.'
Daniel Evans said he was writing a song for his friend. He wrote: 'Feel so hard to come to terms [with your death]. I'm recording a song for you on Thursday... I miss you buddie...i cant really say much because I'm in denial that the fact that your not here.'
Cousin Natalie Hill said: 'My heart tells me that you always be with us...I am glad you feel no pain now .'
A neighbour, who did not want top be named, said: 'Ross was always a very pleasant and polite young man and well liked by everybody in the street.
'He had recently done very well in his AS levels and I know all his family were very proud of his achievements.
'It's just awful that something like this has happened.'
A family friend said: 'Ross had everything going for him. He had a lovely family and was an intelligent young man who wanted to be a doctor.
"He will be dearly missed by the whole village, but our sympathies especially go out his family at this sad time.'
Llantrisant community councillor Allan Matheson, a governor at Ross's school, said: 'The tragedy has had a big impact on the community. Everybody seems to be in a daze as to why these events have occurred.'
An inquest was opened and adjourned by the Mid Glamorgan Coroner Peter Maddox today.
