Arabic programs abroad

Post by Mad May »

I was looking for an intensive Arabic course for a year, so far looked at the AUC in Egypt, website says its about $20,000, but then I looked at the University of Jordan and it was about £2,000 for a year. Why the massive price difference? If anyone has taken these kinds of courses or lives in the Middle East, do you know of any good programs, thanks.

http://www.ibaanah.com/pub/ Cheap and very good quality. You can also spend only the summer if you want, very flexible institute. I personally know tons of people who went there and they all recommend it.

Check Rossetta stone but I am not sure how good it is. http://www.rosettastone.com/learn-arabic

AUC is a good institution but is way expensive.

That does look interesting, but I was looking for a university program to be honest, I want to learn Arabic as well as gain a respected qualification if you see what I mean.
Navy, thanks, I've heard of that rosetta stone, not sure about it tbh. Yeah AUC is a really pricy, but its a really respected institution right? The University of Jordan seems good, but the cheapness concerns me.

Yeah, its well known and I love it, was my old school

First before you travel to any where, see if you can learn it where you live and try to get friends who know the language, it does help alot.

They work with Al-azhar university, i think foreign students go their to better their arabic and they also receive some kind of certificate that enables one to enroll in Al-azhar, marka they do have the quality. Or better yet contact with Al-azhar, nobody beats them in Arabic but their religious course is

I've been looking for some great programs that I could spend a year abroad, luckily there are quite a few guy's I know that have already done so, one place that is highly recommended is the Qasid Institute for classical and modern Arabic in Amaan, Jordan.

You aren't gonna learn satisfactory Arabic at AUC, the University of Jordan or any other fanciful institution. I know the most effective way to learn Arabic, but knowing you're anti-Islam and anti-Muslim, it would be pointless to tell you.
