Are you Covered by Tribal Qaaraan System?
I'm writing about the Somali Qaaraan system, so help me and tell me something about yours. what Qaaraan system are you a member of and how much you pay and what they cover.
This is the way I understand, its somewhat like an insurance. and it covers death (tuugmo), war, bailing out if a member is jailed and building schools and hospitals in your clan's town or land. its usually males who work and are over 18yrs and it could be monthly or yearly.
so what kind coverage does your Qaraan have?
is it Laf, jilib or Qabiil one?
is it your mother's or your fathers?
how much do you pay per month ? $10, $20?
do you have an account or someone collects it?
what happens if you refuse to pay? do you get shunned?

I don't believe that tribal Qaaraan pay for education, it seems that is kind personal. I remember Somalian Boqor was talking about his tribe buying him a laptop and stuff, but that is kind strange.
Plus Sade is too big for a Qaaraan system, most Qaaraan systems were laf or jilib subclans.

Personally it has done nothing for me

Dont worry though; qaaraan system will die with our parents generation. It's not like we give a hoot about what some random niggas does anymore.
Enlighten! Yup.....he just made a mistake so we bailed him out, hopefully he wont repeat it again.

My parents pay my fees. Its only paid annually or bi-annually. Roughly $2000 to cover all the younger generation in my family when the payments come.
It covers any traditionally too-costly medical procedures if situations come up, it covers death and tacsi, hajj every 5 years, any allocations to the clan at home in times of need, and widowers insurance.

That is why Qaaraan system is a sub-sub clan thing, if it covers the whole tribe, than they will be too much disagreements, some sub clans are less troublesome than others etc. plus, they don't give reciept or have an acount, so you never know when and where the money was spent.GENERAL_SNM wrote:Walle I quit mine because it was costly. My family doesn't pay qaraan. We support our hundreds of relatives and thats it.
Even '91 When it was Darood vs Hutus We didn't pay, and everybody called us dhulli

My immediate sub clan sucks, only qaaraan we collect is for war/death/emergency situations. Nothing for development that I'm aware of
However, that might have something to do with us not having our own degmo

Reer Kooshin put all their money in Kismaayo

I heard there is no more Kooshin in Mudug, they all came to Xamar in '69 When they heard Aabe Siyaad was giving out free Bakhlava to pushins, and after the War, Kismaayo

And people wonder why I hate Shabab so much. lol We still have a presence in Balanbale and to a lesser extent CW though.
I'm thinking about scheduling a meeting to discuss the possibility of starting a new mini district in Gedo, lord knows its big enough.
