How do you feel about adoption??

I am asking this because I would like to someday marry a Somali man (we'll see) and I would also like to adopt. I feel that there are so many children in this world that need our help and care and love and I would love that child to be from Somalia (if possible).
I was telling a friend of mine who happens to be somali and he said that no somali man will ever be okay with the idea of adoption when he can have his own offspring. I really want to adopt. I would do it now but Im certain that I dont qualify as Im 'single'.

So fellas...whats ur take? Is my friend correct? Are majortiy of you apposed to adoption?

why adopt when you can have your own kids..people only marry to have childrens and start a family right..and if you really want to help poor kids you can send money to them while they are living with their own mother and father..you can finance their education and food and even visit them to check out how they are doing when ever you have a vacation..that would be more helpfull then adopting the kid and taking them away from their real family.

lol its not a fashion tred peddy....Ive always wanted to adopt children. Of course I would love to have my own..but I would also like to adopt a child or two.
I didnt think people would be so apposed to the idea.

If you have the money go ahead . However, adopting a child is a huge decision and responsibilty. It's not like getting a pet. You have to treat them as if they were your own flesh and blood. No favouritism and no resentment. Personally, when I get married, if can't have children biologically I would adopt a relative's child or something.
