When the sheikh asks them if they do, the girl says "with the permission of my father and mother I do" the guy apparently doesn't need permission. Then they sip bitter youghurt to symbolise sticking through the bad times and they feed each other honey to symbolise enjoying the good times togetehr. Now tell me isn't that the most romantic nikaax ceremony ever! I can't imagine a somali couple feeding each other honey or kissing like that but I think the bride being present will be welcomed progress!
