Its a great accomplishment, but its not the largest public library ever built in Somalia. That title goes to Maktabada Qaranka which was at least over 4 stories high and was located in downtown Mogadishu. Maybe you never went there, but I did as a young boy. It was right across from Madxafka Qaranka (the national museum) near Xaawo Taako in Shabelle. Most elementery school kids in Mogadishu would visit it or the museum at least once or twice during the school year, that's how I visited it on a school field trip.

Furthermore, Gaheyr University also had a large & extensive library on its campus. So did Lafoole.

Book Drive

We should collect unused or used books and start sending to those eager minded kids. I have many books and a rewards inside few (several playboy magazines hidding between pages), hopefully that would motivate them to read just like it motivated as a youngster.
