Domestic Violence
Whats with the rash of these cases among Somali couples ? I am puzzled why a man would go back to a woman who pulls out a kitchen knife and cuts him with it. Shiid, if I was forced to jump out the 2nd floor bathroom window with nothing but my macawiis for a parachute, I'd be damned to go back.
Guys and gals, if it comes down to exchanging physical blows, dialing the police, pulling out knives or boiling water, its best to part ways peacefully.

waryaa,
I am talking about married couples. If my wife pulled a knife on me, I'd divorce. Yet these Faraxs and Xalimos are brought back together by their families resulting in more drama.

Dhaga,
Its because they marry these women for all the wrong reasons. I warned this Farax early on to think twice about it. He was with this real sweetheart who treated him like a King, supported his monkey arse through school, and did a lot for him but he chose to marry another woman who was her opposite and from his qabiil. He never even told her that he was getting married and she found out on her own.
I never mislead the innocents nor take advantage of them hence my bachelorhood. After all, action has consequences.

In that case, he deserves what he got. I guess what goes around comes around!

Dhaga,
Yep. I am a positive role model for them: not divorced, no kids, no drama. Sadly, the wives may cast some blame on me but they don't realize that I am their defense attorney in the Golaha Odeeyasha.

Re: Domestic Violence
Somalis don’t have proper domestic violence. He slaps her, she bites him. He breaks a chair; she throws half a cup of hot tea at him. He spits at her, she pulls out a kitchen knife on him but never manages to kill him to cause serious injury. It’s pathetic really.

Paddington,
Untrue. There are the boiling water/oil spills. Or the lacerations using the kitchen knife etc.
I don't see why you would spend the night in a house with a crazy Xalimo. Its time to move out or go couch surfing

Re: Domestic Violence
Every married man should have a friend like you. I know such a friend who named his tiny flat The Hostel. I once went to visit him and found a young man in his twenties and an old man almost in his seventies staying there. Both men had marriage trouble and (temporarily) left their wives. I could only imagine the night time conversations these guys had.AbdiWahab252 wrote:Paddington,

Re: Domestic Violence
PBear,
I have hosted many IDPs. After a while it gets too much especially when the sockers keep going back for punishment again and again even though after Golaha Odeeyasha have advised them not too. Some don't know how to live the Iskaboolo life anymore: can't cook for themselves, messy etc.
The most irritating are the ones who want to live their life through you i.e. asking to hang out with your single friends, asking for a hook up with Heblaaye etc etc.

Re: Domestic Violence
There is a business in this, you know. Start up: The Centre For The Rehabilitation Of Formerly Married Men. Charge them an introductory fee and a deposit. Set them up with tame harlots who are not interested in marriage and arrange weekly field trips to local supermarkets.
You’ll make your money whilst safe in the knowledge that these guys will sooner or later return to married life.
