Our main Objectives are:
• Health - we aim to improve health and wellbeing in Togdheer region of Somaliland.
• Education – promote education, awareness and capacity building
• Sports - occupy young people with sport activities, who otherwise would have been on the streets and eating Khat or immigrating to other countries and putting themselves at risk or even dying.
The organisation has over 300 member including volunteers and donors and has raised over $50,000 US Dollars for the MAANDHAYE Mental Health Hospital project in Burao which the second phase is under construction. Togdheer is the largest region in Somaliland and previously had no Hospital of such that specialises in the treatment of mental health related illnesses which massive increased in the country over the years due to war, poverty and substance misuse. Since and after the civil war and the collapse of the Somalia’s union’s government in the 1990’s the people of Somaliland, especially the people in this region has been working tirelessly on peace and reconstruction in the country. They have formed voluntary committees who devoted time and wealth for the region, building modern and up to date Universities and new bridges in the city of Burao. Now, for the first time Burao has a Mental Health Hospital that is taking and treating patients, built by its people without outside or government assistance.
