Its really inaccurate, Sanaag I'd have a double shade of "dispute" territory not only around Erigavo but West Sanaag where Dir-Somaliland isnt in control nor capable of controling lands in that territory due to the rough terrain and Maakhiri presence.

I can tell you first hand wallahi Maakhiris in Badhan are probably the most wealthiest people of all the towns/cities is Somalia.

Badhan is by far above the average in Somalia.

Id prefer Maakhiris to actually enforce taxs in Maakhir or on Maakhiris in Sanaag/Bari/North Sool to develop their individual communities. Education, Health Care and a infrastructure that is progressive likewise provide employment for youths would benefit Maakhir than going out of Somalia or somewhere else.

Truely an effective organized body needs to be put in place there.

I think its the problem with all Somali clans. Some do better than others. At the end everything is a natural process and the Maakhiris in Maakhir are realizing that their land needs to be utilized or they will end up as foreigners in some other lands ex. Hargeysa

The thing is its taking time for a people who dont have a leader since their last real Sultan and are stuck with the status qao of the last regime, zero development and then getting caught up in a admin where they didnt secure their own stake ex. making Badhan/Erigavo the capital of Puntland.

They will learn and hopefully soon enough, exploit the Somali situation as best as possible.
